A wedding anniversary is important to any married couple, especially when that couple celebrates almost a lifetime of being together. This is how it can be characterized a marriage of 25 years spent side by side, sharing the same joys and sorrows, and enjoying life as one.

A 25-year wedding anniversary is also known as the silver wedding, this is why a couple celebrating a quarter of a century of being together should focus on this color and why not, on using as many silver objects as their financial status allows them to.

Not only they should think of something like this in relation to their silver wedding, but also their guests, who should offer some silver gifts, such as tableware or flatware, which are so appreciated by older couples. Silver is also said to bring good luck to those who receive it as a gift, so here is another reason for which those invited to a 25-year wedding anniversary should choose silver.

And for those who want to offer flowers as well, learn that the flower characteristic to a 25-year wedding anniversary is iris. So purchase some irises for the lady or a potted iris, that will be enjoyed for a much longer time than a bouquet made of irises, that wilt in about a week after being cut.

Although the 25-year wedding anniversary is not that important to the government of the country where a couple lives, like the 50-year wedding anniversary, a couple celebrating 25 years of marriage could also receive a greeting from the Mayor or even from the President of that country, who congratulates them for reaching such an important number of years spent together.
