A very cheap outdoor wedding reception can take place in the very backyard of your house. Usually, those who have celebrated their big day in their backyard have thrown an informal party, but we have to say that the level of formality in case of a backyard wedding can be very high. Just think of the French court, who in the past used to throw their reception parties only in their ‘backyard’. That was a time when restaurants were not very popular, and even if some restaurant did exist indeed, Royalty never set foot in such locations. So a backyard wedding can be as formal as you want it to be, as long as you impose a certain dress code, if you invite important personalities or if you are known as a person who likes formality.

The first thing that has to be considered in case of a backyard wedding is how to throw a party there, with all your neighbors present. Some of them may desire to sleep, while you are having fun. So what can you do in this case? Even if your neighbors are not the best people in the world, you should invite them to your wedding, and if they say No, at least you are covered, and they can be as vocal as they want regarding your wedding, because you have fulfilled the neighbor etiquette (if there is any) and invited them to your special event.

After dealing with your neighbors, you have to take into account the overall appearance of your wedding venue. Place some light strings in trees, rent some long tables (if you do not have tables like this in your house already), and prepare for cooking some mouthwatering barbecues, for designing some cool cocktails and for offering your guests plenty of super surprises.
