Being such a large city, with so many inhabitants, Chicago benefits of plenty of places to eat; it is considered that the approximate number of restaurants, cafés, bistros, pubs, taverns and other places like this is around 5000. And of all these 5000 places to eat, here are the best that can be considered in case of a wedding: Alinea (a very expensive restaurant, with prices beginning at $150 and ending at $1000), The Purple Pig (a rather cheap steakhouse, serving European contemporary dishes), and Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab (a restaurant specialized in the American cuisine).

Alinea is incredibly situated on the first position on many tourism websites, although prices there are not among the lowest. Alinea is found at 1723 N. Halsted St. and is the perfect place for special occasions. One can enter this restaurant only if they have a reservation, so if you plan to celebrate your wedding there, make sure to contact the restaurant manager at least one year before your big event, because Alinea is very popular and booked for many other events too. As expected, wedding dishes served at Alinea refer only to exquisite foods, such as steelhead roes with carrots, coconut and carry, oyster leaf with mignonette, King crab with passionfruit, allspice and heart of palm, lobsters with chamomile, razor clams with soy and scallops with Thai bananas, sea salt and kaffir lime.

The Purple Pig is located at 500 N. Michigan Ave. and is open from breakfast to late night. Just like in the case of the previous restaurant, if you plan a wedding at The Purple Pig, you should discuss with a representative there, at least several months before your wedding. In terms of wedding menu, this restaurant serves steaks, antipasti, salads, fried items, panini, smears, cured meats, cheeses and sweets. A menu for a formal wedding at this restaurant should contain fried almonds with rosemary and garlic, roasted corn with mushrooms, shaved raw summer squash, made of arugula, hazelnut, opal and lemon basil, pigs ear, slow roasted ham, chorizo, tomato bread, prairie breeze and Italian wedding cookies.

Joe’s Seafood, Prime Steak & Stone Crab is found at 60 E. Grand Ave. and accepts reservations with OpenTable. A wedding menu at this restaurant is based on all those foods mentioned in the very name of this restaurant. Thus, we have stone crab appetizers, spinach stuffed mushrooms, fried calamari, oysters, clam chowers, Joe’s cole slaw, greens salads, vegetables chopped salads with lobster, shrimp and Alaskan King crab, fried shrimp, fisherman’s platter containing scallops, calamari, shrimp, and cod, lobster tails, artichoke stuffed sole with creamy fennel broth and Chilean sea bass with bok choy and miso glaze.
