Not all destination weddings occur on beaches or exotic islands, this is why not all the wedding invitations that announce a destination wedding should be enhanced by actual sand, sea details, seashells, waves drawn by a skillful artist or sunlight pictured by some lovely yellow fabrics.
So if you plan a destination wedding, be certain that you notify your guests regarding the destination of your wedding from the first moment they look at your invitation. If the invitation will look like any other invitation, potential guests could open the invitation, read about the event that will soon happen and they might not even check the location where the wedding will be held, so if you want to get a straight answer from them (if they will come or not to your wedding), make sure to express very well the most important detail that your invitation has to transmit, namely the location where you will celebrate the wedding.

To emphasize even more that you will hold a destination wedding, send your guests, besides just a wedding invitation, a save-the-date card and also an RSVP card. This way, they will be obligated to answer to your call of having them present at your wedding. They will have to contact you, either by giving you a call, or by sending an e-mail, if they do not send you back that RSVP card, with their answer in it.
The price of destination wedding invitations is the same as the ones of regular invitations; they are not different from other types of invitations, so their price should not be different as well. Nevertheless, if the invitation has an unusual shape, like a silk bandana or an exquisite statuette, the price will be definitely higher.
