A Perfect Celebration

There are many ways to make a wedding menu memorable. While the bride and groom may not be that attentive to the wedding menu on their wedding day, since they will be stressed by seeing everyone at their party enjoying themselves, their guests will most likely be eager to fill their stomachs with some tasty treats.

The first thing that has to be considered by a happy couple organizing their wedding is to choose a regional menu. This is available if they plan a destination wedding as well. No one will want to eat pasta in Hawaii, not even those who have Italian roots. For a wedding organized on an exotic island, for example, the recommendation is to choose only traditional dishes.

Another idea that luckily is taken into account by any chef is to present the food very well. Not only the tongue will remember how good the food was at a certain wedding, but also the eyes, so any happy couple should bear in mind that their guests will very likely recall a fabulous looking buffet table, much better than how the food was like.

If a chef recommends a happy couple to choose a certain dish, because it is trendy and everybody loves it, the happy couple should take this suggestion into consideration, because the chef knows better than them what works at weddings and what does not. Let's say that, when a happy couple plans their wedding, pomme frittes served with a traditional mayonnaise in paper cones are the best way to go; well, this is one of the dishes that they should choose, if they want to offer their guests a contemporary and, at the same time, trendy dish.

A complete menu, with appetizers, main course and dessert, is around 80-$90. A dinner wedding menu can include these next first courses: chilled tomato soup, with peach, watermelon and lobsters, ruby red shrimp, smoked trout with pickled onions and Cipollini purée, and sweet corn custard with husk cherries and basil, and these second or main courses: red snapper with sungold tomatoes, zucchini and artichokes, roasted and braised lamb with scallions, ruby crescent potatoes and green garlic and duck breast with grapes and almonds. For dessert, happy couples could serve a wedding cake with crème fraîche, plum sorbet and candied fennel, warm chocolate pudding, an apple tarte with Bourbon cream and butter pecan ice cream and a selection of raspberry, plum, blueberry and lemon sorbets.

Regarding the drinks that can be served at a wedding, these are champagnes, wines, all sorts of liquors, and also beverages, teas and other non-alcoholic drinks. Drinks should be ordered by the wedding guests as they desire, and not purchased in advance by the marrying couple.
